Double chocolate chip Hallo-weed cookies are sure to get anyone into the Halloween mood!

Double Chocolate Chip Hallo-weed Cookies

Some people may think that weed cookies or hash brownies are too cliche nowadays with the vast array of edible products that are now available on the market, but I am telling you, they will never go out of style, ever.
Just think about it, people love cookies, people love brownies, people love the classics! These weed cookies are so good you’ll be tempted to eat more than one so you can substitute more of the cannabutter for regular butter to make them less strong or just make a second batch of non-infused cookies. In that case, make sure you use different toppings so you will not mix them up! You can also use different toppings for any occasion.
Have you ever wondered why we celebrate Halloween or why we encourage underage kids to go trick or treating for candy from strangers?

Samhain (Halloween) began around 2000 years ago with a Gaelic festival to celebrate the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. It was believed that the boundary between this world and the “Otherworld” could more easily be crossed from October 31st to November 1st. This meant that spirits or fairies could cross over to this world. To ensure their safety and that of their livestock, the Celts left offerings of food and drink outside for the spirits. Loved ones who had passed onto the Otherworld were beckoned to join their families for dinner with a place set at the table for them. “Guising” and “Mumming” were part of Samhain, people would walk door-to-door in costume (or in disguise), reciting verses or prayers in exchange for food.

YIELDS12 Servings
 ½ cup cannabutter, room temperature
½ cup regular butter, room temperature
 ½ cup brown sugar
 ½ cup white sugar
 1 egg, room temperature
 1 tsp vanilla extract
 1 ⅓ cups flour
  cup cocoa powder

Add the egg & vanilla extract, beat together until fluffy.

In a separate bowl mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda & salt together, add to the sugar mixture & mix. Scrap down the sides to incorporate any butter & sugar stuck to the sides & bottom.

Mix in the mini chocolate chips. Using a 2 oz. portioning scoop or muffin scoop, drop cookie dough onto a greased cookie sheet or parchment lined pan. Use your fingers to sprinkle on desired toppings.

Bake for about 15 minutes. Remove from the oven, allow to cool (just a bit) & enjoy the chocolately cannabis goodness.
