Interview With The Owner Of Club Snoog, A Members Only Cannabis Edibles Company.
Club Snoog is a discreet cannabis edibles company that was started in April 2016 in the sunny state of Florida. The company is a one-woman show, owned and operated by Dessert Expert Samantha Lathpakdy. Samantha dislikes using the word amateur chef, so she titles herself as “The Dessert and Edible Expert.” She is self-taught and has been baking independently since she was around 12 years old. Originally the company was named Snoog Life but was quickly changed to Club Snoog after it became “members only” business. This small batch bakery creates exclusive cannabis treats based solely on the client’s needs and desires using only the highest quality ingredients.
Why did you decide to get into the edibles business?
I decided to get into the edibles business because I love food and I love cannabis! My husband would always buy us poor-quality cannabis edibles and I would tell him “You know I can make this, and it would taste much better right?” I was tired of my only options for edibles being bricked cereal bars and brownies that tasted like plant material. I was moving up the corporate ladder, three years into college and I hated my job. I started making the edibles on the weekends and at night, we grew rapidly, so I quit my job to make cannabis desserts full time.
Where did you learn to make all of your edibles?
I am self-taught, so it’s a combination of research, trial and error, and practice practice practice! Not every test in the test kitchen is a success but with every test, I am mastering my skills.
What kind of products does your company offer?
We started out offering baked cake pops, this was something everyone in the community was already comfortable with (and something my husband bought often.) We offer donuts as our blank canvas and let clients choose really any flavor they desire. We offer almost every kind of dessert imaginable, Smores Bites, Macarons, Ice Cream, The Infused Crème Brulee is my favorite!!!
What sets your company apart from other edibles producers?
The limit does not exist! We want you to feel like you’re at 3-star Michelin restaurant when eating our desserts. We put all of our focus on the client by making sure we use the best quality ingredients and listening to all the feedback we receive.
What is your favorite strain to make edibles with?
My favorite strain to make edibles with is Trainwreck. I favor hybrids and Trainwreck is a great sativa dominant strain to work with. I usually ask my clients, “Do you want to feel a surge of euphoria, or more of a hypnotic and dreamy high?” If the response is dreamy then I go with my personal favorite Bubba Kush.
Where does your inspiration come from?
FIRST, I grab my bong, then my Grandma’s cookbooks, they’re from a time before YouTube and the internet. She really experimented with flavors. I might read a recipe for Blueberry Buckle and that would give me the idea to make a blueberry donut or blueberry ice-cream with some spiced coffee cake topping. I like creating desserts that maybe I’ve never seen before. My favorite time to create is when a client tells me flavors they like, and they trust me to create something amazing. Having this freedom is when I create the best flavor combinations.

What are some of the challenges you have experienced in this industry?
Legalization. Legalization. Legalization.
What are some of the goals you have set for your business?
One day I want to become a household name for cannabis desserts, even if it’s just in my state. I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl in January of this year and took some time off to give her all my attention. Now its time to branch out our empire! I want to start offering in-home private classes, for my younger and older clients who are just starting to learn about cannabis infusion. I also recently started working on a cannabis dessert cookbook and hope to have that complete by next year!
Do you have any advice or tips for others who are looking to start their own edibles business?
DO IT! Just do it! This is your one life and your one chance to do whatever you are passionate about. Don’t let the narcissism and pessimism of the world cloud your thoughts. At the same time be prepared for it, be prepared for others to dislike your work, be prepared for unjust criticism and “haters.” When I created my edible page and started posting my pictures, a lot of companies who I once admired and never personally met started blocking me. Stay in your lane, focus on the quality and ingredients of your work and you’ll be so happy you did! A quote I live by, I heard it from 2 Chainz first, “supporting another’s success won’t ever dampen your own!”
